You’ll serve with other caring, committed people who share your passion to help build a stronger community.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Outreach Office Reception/Security  (Mondays (morning and afternoon); Wednesday and Friday Mornings)
  • Sorting Room (Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays)
  • Cashiers (Thursdays and Fridays)

Paid Opportunity for Income-Eligible Volunteers 55+

ALL SCSEP POSITIONS ARE CURRENTLY FILLED


Seton Center has partnered with the Jewish Council for the Aging to host SCSEP - Senior Community Service Employment Program! Their goal is to assist older adults in Montgomery and Frederick County maintain independence, dignity, vitality, and self-respect.

 

What is SCSEP? It is a program designed specifically for income-eligible adults age 55 or over to enter or re-enter the workforce in local non-profits like Seton Center and government agencies.


Participant's annual income limits are: $16,800 for individuals or $22,000 for persons who are part of a couple. "Income" includes Social Security and pension earnings. However, SSI & SSDI income do not count toward the total income.

 

Participants may:

 - work up to 20 hours per week for up to 4 years

 - receive a stipend of $15.00 per hour, which provides additional income without endangering their eligibility for other income streams

 - learn new skills or brush up on current skills

How to Volunteer

Seton Center uses an application process that helps us find the best fit for your skills while also ensuring the safety of our clients, customers, staff and fellow volunteers. 

To join our amazing team:

A background check is completed on all applicants. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Contact Missy if you have any questions. *A criminal record does not necessarily preclude you from volunteering!*
