It is Seton Center’s goal to collaborate with Frederick-based social service/health organizations by providing space at our location so our neighbors may have closer access to vital services. Below is a list of organizations with whom we collaborate to bring these services to northern Frederick County.
HealthCare Access Maryland
We now offer healthcare enrollment and Medicaid support each Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 4 PM through our partnership with HEALTHCARE ACCESS MARYLAND. Navigator Kalie Pearson from Healthcare Access Maryland serves as the Connector Entity to assist local Maryland residents with health insurance enrollments under the Affordable Care Act.
Open Enrollment for 2018 qualified health plans (QHPs) is over, but many people can get coverage any time of the year if they experience certain life changes such as: losing existing health coverage, getting married or divorced, moving to Maryland, having or adopting a child, turning 26 and moving off your parent’s insurance plan and some changes in income if you’re already enrolled.
Medicaid enrollment is also available year-round. However, Kalie can also provide guidance on how to receive maximum benefits of this program. For more information or to make an appointment, please call Kalie at 410-500-4710 or visit www.hcamaryland.org.
VITA Program (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)
The United Way of Frederick County will staff this program on Thursdays from 10 AM to 12 noon at Seton Center from February 8 thru April 12, 2018 to assist local residents in preparing and submitting their income tax returns at low or no cost, depending on their income level. Click here for more details. Call 211 or 866.411.6803 to schedule an appointment.
Community Health Workers (CHWs)
The Asian American Center of Frederick hosts a newly formed Community Health Workers program, a certificate-based training program and the first of its kind in Frederick County. CHWs are frontline public health workers with a strong understanding of the communities they serve. We’re looking forward to AACF’s partnership to bring Community Health Workers to our area to bridge the gap between community medical needs and services. Stay tuned!
